I’m Kathrina Cann, a licensed psychotherapist, Board Approved Supervisor, Certified EMDR Therapist™ & EMDRIA Approved Consultant™, EMDR Training Facilitator, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Inclusive Eating Disorder Specialist–Consultant, and Certified School Counselor.
I am the founder of Nourished Minds Therapy & Consulting and regularly present, teach, and speak on topics including trauma, dissociation, eating disorders, identity stress, neurodivergence, and culturally affirming care. My background includes district-level mental health work within Orange County Public Schools, where I provided direct services to children and families experiencing a range of mental health struggles, and supported program development, implementation, and staff training to better meet the needs of the communities we served.
My work is grounded in both clinical practice and ongoing involvement in research and counselor training. Through my doctoral training in Counselor Education and Supervision, I remain actively engaged in advancing how clinicians are prepared to work with complex trauma presentations and co-occurring disorders with a focus on applied practices that reflect diverse and often underrepresented client experiences. I absolutely love the learning process from all angles, so being a part of supporting students, clinicians, or programs on building their confidence in therapeutic best practices and innovative pathways to care is truly such an honor! I recognize the value of having an inviting, warm, non-judgmental space as key to the learning process, and prioritize ensuring my consultees leave feeling motivated, hopeful, and inspired to use what they've learned in our sessions.
My approach to consultation integrates clinical depth with real-world application, supporting you in building both skill and confidence in your work. Each session is personalized to your goals, needs, and client population, and direct, actionable feedback is provided in each consultation.
